You could always do stop motion.

You have to make animation, I was waiting just for that! I would say flash is the best choice, you can try a trial to see if you like it. Add me on skype, I can give you tips and thingy to help you :)

Please don't tell me you don't know stop motion. Like, make a bunch of pictures with slightly different variations in each picture, use a GIF creator, and there you go it's like an animation :v

Apologies my mind went straight to claymation lmao. Im at thise very second trying ot out. Sad part is that the program only allows for 24 frames or something

@bluealpha14 stop motion could be a choice, but people use it for photos. Since @Signhereplease make virtual drawings, flash would be a better choice since he can see what he drawed on the previous layer.

@P3M There's no layering in art apps? Eh, I don't make art so I don't really know what features an art software wouldn't have.

@bluealpha14 another great feature about flash. He can animate the background, create effect, do easy repetition. I actually make animation myself and stopmotion, flash would be a better choice for what he want :P

Stop motion is a good way to start, there are numerous programs as well a quick google search and viewing which of these match your style.
Personally, in your case it'd be far from simple due to the sheer amount of detail you put into your work. A static well made background works with maybe something happen subtly in the background.

Here's a peculiar style of animation that you could also consider.

Guy animates for a number of different artist, but perhaps the way he does it may inspire you in some way. i personally have no idea how he does it though so unfortunately I can't really be helpful there.

Seems people already posted a ton of advice here. Hope to see some of those animations some day!
